Why Less is More!

I was helping a friend develop her first website. She has great ideas, and honestly, is a much better web designer than I am. However, while I work online for a full time income, she has yet to take the plunge and make a dollar with online work.

Why? Well, for one thing she things big. Now thinking big is a good trait in a business owner, but sometimes, we need to start small. She wanted to make a website that was better than the competion because it had more services. However, this very common rookie mistake of trying to be all things to all people has sidelined a lot of talented people.

Her competition was very well established, and I advised her to think twice about jumping in by competing with them in all areas. Instead, I suggested that she should just care out a small, very specific niche from the competition and get very good at that. She thought about what I said and admitted that she was very overwhelmed by trying to start with such a huge market area. When she nailed down a small, specific niche from that market, she could…as we say…wrap her mind out it.

So, in marketing, sometimes less is more……

I started out to make this blog into an affiliate marketing blog. However, I did not stop there. Why? Well, I talked to so many people who really wanted to make money with their computer but do not have any idea how to start, and they do not even know what affiliate marketing is!

So that is why I started this blog, and in time wrote my basic guide to affiliate marketing. I wanted to help people learn what affiliate marketing is, and how it can be one of the easiest ways to make money on the computer!  I like it because you do not need to handle your own product, deal with billing issues, shipping, or even speak with customers. Of course, you may need to communicate with your website visitors, but most transactions are handled over the internet!

Of course, another way to make money on the internet, is to use online auctions like EBay. Many people find that this is another way to start out too, and if you use a drop shipping model, it will eliminate the need to handle products or store them. But you will still need to handle customer service and billing.

Websites Make Money?

Since I have been working online it is hard for me to believe that most people really do not know how websites make money. I know…right? So to help people who are new to the idea of monetizing the net, I decided to make a list of the ways that websites can make money. Or at least I will list the ways that I have heard of. I am certain, that out of the millions of websites and online opportunities out there, that other ways exist. If you know another way, be sure and leave a comment. I’d like to know too!

Ways To Make Money With Your Website

• Sell Your Products - Have a product or service and use a website to help sell it. Then take orders online, have a printable order form, or post a phone number, business address, or other contact information that customers can use. Of course, many e-commerce websites combine online orders and other contact information.
• Collect Sales Leads - Promote a product or service, and then include an information form that visitors can fill out with contact information. Viola! You have now turned a web surfer into a potential customer. Some businesses collect leads for their own use, and some businesses collect these leads to sell to salespeople.
• Sell products for other people - this is called affiliate marketing, and it is the type of money making enterprise that many people prosper with. You do not need to stock products, handle billing, or deal wth customer service. You just need to bring interested (targetted) traffic to your website and conince them that buying a sponsor product is a good idea. Of course, this is what we teach on affiliate underdog!
• Sell Advertising - Some websites just charge for advertising. For example, one popular joke site just charges other internet marketers for advertising. Websites may charge by the impression or by some time period. Of course, a website needs to have lots of traffic to get advertisers to keep buying ad space.
• Contextual Advertising - the most famous example is Google Adsense. A website owner places a script on a page, and it picks up the theme of the page. Then, when surfers click though, the webmaster earns money for sending traffic to other websites
• Charge For Membership - All types of websites, from dating to classified ads site, simply charge a periodic membership fee to let their members use their services.

Google Manipulator Review — Even Better Than Free Affiliate Income Generator

I do not usually reccomend EBooks, and Make Money EBooks are at the bottom of the list. However, I did buy Pawel Reszka’s previous book, and it was very helpful. That was Free Affiliate Income Generator, and it came out about a year ago. The reason I bought it was because I saw how well he was ranking on “make money” keywords. In fact, he was outraning his more well known competitors. Those are usually the toughest to rank on because it is a field dominated by very experienced internet marketers.

So, I got an email about a new Pawel Rezka book, and this one is called Google Manipulator. It is similar to Free Affiliate Income Generator, in that it outlines ways to rank higher in Google based upon links from high authority websites. I was not dissapointed that it was similar though, because a lot has changed in a year, and he publishes up to date information, and has expanded upon his first book.

Most online guides about making money on the internet ecourage newbies to spend a lot of money on pay per click ads, and they encourage newbies to spend that money promoting the author’s book!

Rezka is realistic about how tough it is to complete in the “make money” niche, and actually encourages people to find some less competitive products to sell. He also explains the exact steps to go through to get free traffic, and he claims that he does not spend any money on pay per click traffic.

Affiliate Marketing Is A Great Way To Profit Online

 The first question that people ask is just how do people make money online anyway? And the answer that many online business people give is with affiliate marketing. This leads us into the second question, of course. What is affiliate marketing?

Let’s start with businesses, which I usually refer to as online sponsors. They decide to market their products or services online, and all or part of their business plan is to recruit affiliate marketers. In other words, they will pay affiliates to send internet traffic (website visitors). They pay these affiliates for traffic that performs an action, and that is why this is often called cost per action (CPA) marketing.

The affiliate has a unique linking code that they drop upon their website, blog, web page, etc. that indentifies the traffic that they have sent. The may get paid if the web surfer buys something, fills out a sales lead form, or sometimes they get paid if they just send a visitor who clicks through to the sponsor’s website!

So an affiliate marketer does not need to have their own product. They do not need to handle billing or shipping or any details like that. All you need, as an online marketer, is that ability to attract traffic and market products to them. So in some ways, affiliate marketing, can be a simple home business.

How To Become An Affiliate Marketer?

That is affiliate marketing, and when you sign up with a sponsor program, you become an affiliate marketer! For most affiliate programs, it is just that simple. You sign up with your contact information, website address, and how you would like to get paid. Some affiliate programs do manually approve affiliates, and some have fairly strict rules. You will need to read the terms of the programs you are interested in signing up with to make sure you have an appropriate website.

Now some sponsors run their own affiliate programs, but many use affiliate networks. If you, as an affiliate marketer, sign up with a network, you can choose from many different types of programs.

Some popular affiliate network programs that are very friendly to inexperienced (and experienced) online marketers are NeverBlueAds and ShareASale! I have also had great success with the inhouse affiliate program of Insureme, and their affiliate managers are great!
